It gets foggy
You love to plan, I get it; you have it all figured out. You have crossed all the t’s and dotted all the i’s; it’s all perfect in your strategy. When you go to the ground though, things happen that you had not factored in. All of a sudden, the arithmetic doesn’t add up. You cannot see how it could work with new circumstances. The obvious thing for most is to abandon ship and say it is became too problematic to continue.
On the flip side, you could see as a welcome minor change to the strategy; a small tweak to the plan. Most times, the plan was solid but you may have to look at it as a step a time. Find a way to execute the next step despite the prevailing circumstances and then do the same for the next step. It may not be as easy as stepping on the next pebble to cross a river, but the concept is still the same.
It gets foggy sometimes; you should try to peer through the mist and find the next pebble then step on it.

Last week, I saw a post, I can’t remember on which social media platform it was. Anyway, the message is more important. There was a gentleman talking about a book he had read called ‘A boy, a dog, a Frog and a Friend; I am still looking for it. In it was a story of a boy who was crossing a river and there were large pebbles to step on to guide your way. At some point, the boy couldn’t see the pebbles all the way to the other river bank because it got foggy and he got scared. He told his companions that he couldn’t see the rest of the pebbles and that they should turn back.
One of his friends, told him to calm down and look keenly at the water. He continued that if he could see the next pebble, then he should step on it and then look again for the next pebble and so on. The boy peered through the fog and sure enough, he could see the next pebble. He moved forward by stepping on it and did the same thing after that. That is how they all got to the other side of the river, by stepping on one pebble at a time even though they couldn’t see farther than that.
